How We Choose Providers

We only connect people with providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, whose SDA homes are enrolled with the NDIA, who may have a home that suits and who agree to contact you promptly. We check they did, and we stop working with providers who don't.

  1. Registered With the NDIS Commission

SDA providers have to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and so do SIL providers. We check the Commission's public provider register when they join, and again from time to time.

  2. Homes Enrolled as SDA

An SDA home has to be enrolled with the NDIA before SDA funding can be used for it. Providers confirm their homes are enrolled, with the design category and building type for each.

  3. A Home That May Suit

Providers tell us where their homes are and when they have vacancies or new homes finishing. We only pass your details on when they may have something that fits what you told us.

  4. They Contact You Promptly

Providers agree to contact you promptly after we pass your details on. We follow up to check they did. If they didn't, we find someone else.

  5. Your Housing Doesn't Depend on Your Support Provider

The NDIS Practice Standards say an SDA resident's housing rights, including security of tenure, have to be upheld whatever they decide about other supports. We don't work with providers who tie the home to their own support services.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't decide eligibility or give advice about your plan. That's the NDIA, with your support coordinator.
  • We don't inspect homes. Always visit before you commit, using our questions to ask an SDA provider.
  • We don't send your details to a group of providers at once. It's one at a time.
  • We don't charge you anything. Providers pay us for introductions, as explained on how it works.

If you've had a problem with a provider we connected you with, please tell us at the email address in the footer. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
